New Reserved Parking Spaces Policy and application process

April 2026

The Parish Council is introducing a new Reserved Parking Policy and Procedure for St Mawes Car Park (for the reserved spaces at the bottom and to the left of the car park, not spaces in the main Car Park covered by Residents or Annual permits), which will apply to all reserved parking spaces from 1 April onwards.

In order to ensure that reserved spaces are allocated in a fair, transparent and consistent manner, the Council has agreed that all reserved spaces will now be subject to an annual application process, in line with the new policy.

Application period
Applications must be submitted between 1 January and 31 January 2026.

All applications received within this period will be reviewed by the Car Park Committee, with decisions being made during February. Applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome once the review process has been completed.

Important information

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee allocation of a reserved space.
  • Applications will be assessed against the criteria set out in the policy.
  • Priority will be given as outlined in the policy, with local residents without access to off-street parking considered first, followed by local businesses.
  • Reserved spaces are allocated for a fixed term of 12 months (1 April to 31 March) and are reviewed annually.

If you wish to be considered for a reserved space for the forthcoming period, you must submit a completed application form with accompanying proof of eligibility by 31 January 2026. Failure to apply within the application window will result in the space being offered to other eligible applicants.
