The Planning Committee reviews planning applications received from Cornwall Council. It has the delegated authority to make representation on behalf of the Parish Council regarding them. Any views expressed by the Parish Council will be taken into account by the Planning Authority (usually Cornwall Council) before a decision is made, providing the points are relevant to the determination. The final decision is made by the Planning Authority, not the Parish Council.
Plans have to be considered in line with the National Planning Policy Framework and any local plans that are in existence – e.g. the Roseland Neighbourhood Development Plan, and the emerging Cornwal Local Plan.
On occasion the committee can call a public meeting where an application may have a major impact on the parish or on a number of residents, or raises significant public concerns.
You can view current planning applications on our planning application page or on our facebook page.
